I joined the small team in late April and we used genetic genealogy to identify this Doe. We used the genealogical websites law enforcement are allowed to use- FamilyTreeDNA and Gedmatch, and used matches that have opted in to sharing their DNA with law enforcement.

In 2014 he began taking classes with the International Institute of Genealogical Studies and has now completed 167 courses, earned 10 certificates and is continuing his studies in Scotland and Italy.
Not only is this a paying position to help me get where I need to be, but the reward to help families find their lost family. I’ve never been more proud, and I feel blessed to be on my way in the career I dreamed of for so many years.
