PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATE
This program will benefit those who wish to pursue a career in genealogy, create a genealogy business, or to augment their income potential by adding niche areas to their business plan. Skill-building courses are of high importance in this certificate to ensure quality results as a professional researcher. 

Under the guidance of Angela Breidenbach, PLCGS, the Professional Development Certificate includes 32 compulsory courses along with 8 elective courses. Angela is the Executive Director of International Institute of Genealogical Studies, and is a student advisor and mentor, as well as being a best selling author. She has decades of experience in both business ownership and genealogy. She also hosts online Zoom sessions on many subjects regarding this certificate.

There are three levels of courses in the certificate program, basic, intermediate, and advanced. These include our Methodology courses along with business skills courses including career planning, creating your business, and administration. You will also learn how to market your business, give engaging genealogy lectures, and advanced research skills.

The Professional Development Certificate can be combined with another certificate to give you a niche for your genealogy business. You can easily fulfill the elective requirements with courses from another certificate program, which, upon completion will give you two certificates. Many of our students use courses in our DNA & Genetic Genealogy certificate as their electives.
