Ask professional genealogists about their must-have memberships and their likely reply will include membership in the professional organization, The Association of Professional Genealogists.
APG recently announced a new educational requirement for membership. The Association of Professional Genealogists believes that all genealogists, no matter their experience or knowledge level, stand to benefit from continual learning, and recognizes that continuing professional development is crucial to advancing and improving the profession. This new yearly 12 hour requirement can be met in a number of ways including by participating in online courses.*
At The National Institute we are dedicated to continuing genealogical education. It’s for this reason that we are proud to announce that The National Institute for Genealogical Studies is teaming up with APG to provide a new benefit to its members. APG members can now access National Institute courses at a discounted rate. APG members will now receive:
- 20% off individual courses (up to $30.00 in savings)
- 10% off course packages (up to $320.00 in savings)
Choose from over 200 courses! Looking to concentrate on a specific type of genealogy? We have 10 certificate programs focusing on American, Australian, Canadian, English, German, Irish, and Scottish records as well as Librarianship, Methodology, and Professional Development. That’s a great APG membership benefit, but if you register by 31 December 2016, you can double your savings. APG members can use a special code provided in the APG eNews and receive:
- 40% off 1 individual course
- 20% off 1 package of courses
